The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on October 29.
